Trust; A Boodi Cartouche.
Symbols played a vital role in ancient Egyptian culture. They were written on temple walls and obelisks, and used in magical and religious rituals. They were also used to document the events, culture and spiritual beliefs of the ancient Egyptians.
Inspired by these symbols and ancient Egyptian culture, Boodi has created its own cartouche to encompass what we stand for.
The Boodi Cartouche is an amulet for Trust. The pyramids, or mountains at the bottom; solid and strong structures grounding us to this land. Comforting, solid mounds of earth, rising to the sky. Reaching high, connecting land to stars. They also serve as a reminder to look up from our close surroundings, and beyond to what lies ahead; the possibilities, the paths, the magic.
Above their peaks, a circular reminder that our sun, moon and stars are always there to guide and support. And feeling even further, into the universe; taking us out of ourselves and bringing our awareness to our connection to something much bigger. Feeling comfort and trust that the universe has your back.
At the top of the amulet is the symbol of an animal, taken from an animal cave drawing, originally a deer. It has become a symbol I love and use throughout my jewellery. Animal welfare has always been a cause I care deeply about. This figure symbolises a wild freedom that all living beings should have the right to; the freedom to run wild, swim far and fly high, like the human spirit.
This amulet is a beautiful one to wear on your heart. Holding it against this area on your chest whenever you need the reminder to trust.
The Ancient Boodi Cartouche is carefully hand carved in wax and cast from recycled sterling silver or brass.
